It has been a while since the launch of this palette, a while meaning about 9 months from now. I know it’s late based on the new collaboration Kathleen Light released with Colourpop Cosmetic once again. It is called “The Zodiac Collection” (If you are interested on what the collection holds, head out to the Colourpop Cosmetics Website) but in this post we will tackle the Pressed Powder Shadow Palette named Dream St.
This palette is part of the Dream Collection which also include the Dream Team Lip Bundle with three shades named Dreamy (Ultra Satin Lip), Moon Child (Ultra Glossy Lip) and Rever (Ultra Satin Lip). Now, I did not buy the Lip Bundle because I’m not interested at that time but if I would ever buy from Colourpop again, I would gladly pick up the Lip Bundle. The shades are my cup of tea and I love both Ultra Glossy and Ultra Satin formulas. Okay! Onto the Review and Swatches.
First, the packaging. It comes in a crème coloured cardboard box with marble-ling of gold with crescent moons and stars. The same goes for the palette, it is simple and modern. It comes with 12 eyeshadows with 0.85grams (0.03oz) per shadow. It’s the typical amount on other Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow Palettes like the Yes, Please!, I think i love you, You had me at Hello and other more.
Also at the end of the review and swatches I made a look out of this palette so be sure to check that below!

For the first shade we have Shooting Star which in the Colourpop website, is described as a “matte soft golden brown”. A perfect shade for a transition color on the crease or an all-over lid shade. I always go for this shade whenever I put on makeup to use it as a transition color. In my palette, this shade had no fallout, it blends well and swatches just right on my arm.

Next we have Magical, described as a “matte yellow peach”. Along with Shooting Star it is a perfect shade for a transition color and all-over lid shade whenever you are aiming for that warm sunset-like eye look. This shade had no fallout and blends well in the eye.

Next are the metallic shades. First up is Star Dust, described as a “metallic true copper”. This shadow is the perfect lid shade if you want to achieve that bronze-y eye look. It swatches like a dream, it is long wearing and extremely pigmented. The metallic shades in this palette can be applied with a brush or by your fingers.

Second is the shade Twinkle, described as a “metallic true rose gold”. Just like Star Dust this shade is creamy and very pigmented. There are some chunks of shadow when I swatched it, but when you swipe it in your lids it goes on smooth. This shade is also long wearing and extremely pigmented.

Third metallic shade is Sweet Dreams, described as a “metallic soft champagne with a peachy pink flip”. You got to have a champagne shade in an eyeshadow palette and this one is a must. I go for this shade if I want to achieve a simple/natural eye look. Just pop this shade all over your lid then you are good to go. If you want that intense color on your eyes, you can build it up. But for me, a swipe of this is all I need.

Next to Sweet Dreams is Water Bearer, describes as a “matte cool teal” shade. Now, this is one of the shades in the palette that I truly love and one of the reasons I bought this palette. Sadly, it did not exceed my expectations. (Refer to swatch) It’s a bit dry on the pan. When I swirl my finger to swatch, it comes out powdery. I used this shadow to deepen the outer of my eye (Refer far down below) when I go and pack this shadow/blend, it just won’t show up. Even though I already have a base for the eyeshadows, this particular shade is just difficult to work with. I think I got a bad batch for this particular shadow because the Water Bearer shade in my sister’s palette is not like mine. I still love this shade even though I got a bad one.

Moving on to the next shade we have Potion, described as a “matte vivid reddish rust”. I love to use this shade to deepen the crease and it is a staple shade for your go-to looks.

Next we have Spark, described as a “matte neon red”. Along with Water Bearer and the three metallic shade mentioned above, these five are my favorite shadows in the palette. This shade always speaks to me. Like it kept saying “pick me, pick me” that’s why I always do. Even though it has few fallouts it still blends well.

Next up is Kaleidoscope, described as a “metallic intense silvery nude”. This shade is a unique one, my swatch on it does not even do justice for this shade. When it hits the light it shows of its silver-green reflex. A one of a kind shade in this palette.

Next is Elfish, described as a “matte rich red-brown”. This shade is perfect to use to deepen the crease. If you don’t want that noticeable red in your crease like the shade Potion, you can opt for this one instead because the brown is more dominant in this shade. This shadow is also a bit dry when you touch it in the pan but blends really well on the eyes, yes it does have a bit of fallout but it does not fade out completely when you are blending it.

Second to the last is the shade Moony, described as a “satin soft baby pink”. This shade is perfect for that pop of light in your inner corner, brow bone or it can even work as a highlight for the tops of your cheeks. This is the only shade in the palette perfect for those job.

Lastly we have Mermaid Boy, described as a “metallic deep teal”. I love it swatched but applied on my eyes it’s not as deep as described. But the shadow is creamy, very pigmented and easy to apply just like the other metallic shades. Maybe if I apply a black base on my eyes next time, I would get a much deeper teal.
For the eye makeup, I used Star Dust as a transition shade for the crease. Then I dipped into Potion to deepen it. Next, I went and pack on the shade Water Bearer on my outer corner. (Along with putting a concealer base so that this shade would stick to my eyes, the packing technique is also a good help for this particular shade.) Then I went on with a bigger blending brush, lightly dipped my brush to the shade Spark then with wiper motions I blended it to the outer most of the eye to add a bit more red in the look. Then with a concealer, I cut the innermost part of the eye all the way to the mid part of the eyelid. For the middle color I choose Mermaid Boy and for the innermost corner of my eye I went with Kaleidoscope. Oh and I also used a bit of Elfish for that outer as well. I wore this makeup for a good solid 4 hours and the shadows are still opaque.
Overall, I really enjoyed this palette. The color story/selection is just about right for my taste. It has a good selection of mattes to metallics. You can also create several eye looks and it’s a good go-to palette. For the price it’s $16.00 in the Colourpop Website. If you buy it through online stores (such as Shopee) here in the Philippines the price would be around ₱900.00- ₱1250.00. I got mine through the Colourpop Website, I availed the promo where you buy $50.00 worth of products then the shipping is free internationally.
Well, that’s about it. What about you, what are your thoughts in this Palette? Share it down on the comment section below ^^
